Campus Life

Campus Life combines healthy relationships with creative programs to help young people make good choices, establish a solid foundation for life, and positively impact their schools. Campus Life seeks to engage young people everywhere to become lifelong followers of Jesus Christ. Here are volunteer opportunities to get involved with Campus Life:

+ Become a Junior High Campus Life Mentor 

Description: Build positive mentoring relationships with students and help lead fun and engaging activities at one of our Campus Life school sites; La Loma, Cesar Chavez, Mae Hensley and Blaker-Kinser Junior High in Ceres, Ca.

Availability: Monday through Friday, 1-2 hours a week during school lunch or before/after school.

Family Concern Counseling

Are you a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) trainee, intern, or licensed therapist? We have a variety of part-time non-paid and paid positions within local schools and/or working with in-house clients Monday through Friday.

Juvenile Justice Ministries

JJM seeks to engage young people in relational outreach as they are met in a variety of youth-serving institutions (detention centers, probation, correctional facilities, group homes, residential treatment centers and emergency shelters). This strategy helps young people acquire and develop a way of living taught by Jesus Christ, balancing the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of life. These valued relationships are sustained through ongoing involvement as they reenter their communities. Here are volunteer opportunities to get involved with Juvenile Justice Ministries:

+ Become an Anger Management Instructor

Description: Instruct an Anger Management class to male probationers. Instructors will be trained and provided opportunities to shadow. Must be willing to teach Christian based principles and values in a group setting. 

Availability: Wednesdays 12:45-3:00pm

+ Become a Small Group Facilitator 

Description: Work with juvenile students during their school hours in a small group setting or one-on-one. 

Availability: Monday through Friday between 8:30-2:30pm for a least 2 hours a week.

+Become a Seeking Safety Instructor

Description: Instruct a Seeking Safety (coping skills) class to female probationers. Instructors will be trained and provided opportunities to shadow. Must be willing to teach Christian based principles and values in a group setting.

Next Step Mentoring

The Next Step Program is designed to help students succeed in school and in life. A “mentor” is a trusted guide that can be counted on to be a safe place to encourage, support, direct, and help another be the very best that they were created to be. Whether helping students with their homework and studying for tests, or navigating the tricky thoughts and emotions of a teenager’s life, our mentors are trained to know how to help the students we work with discover, develop, and maximize their God-given potential so that they can experience life to the fullest in their lives. Here are volunteer opportunities to get involved with Next Step Mentoring: 

+ Become a Next Step Mentor

Description: Make a difference! Be a bridge in the lives of  elementary and junior high students after school. We are lookng for passionate, self-motivated, reliable and professional adults to lead after school activities and meet with their mentees on a consistent basis. 

Availability: Monday through Friday, between 8-4pm, depending on school’s needs.

Point Break & Stand Together Workshops

Point Break and Stand Together are six-hour workshops designed to break down education and social barriers that exist between students in Middle School (Stand Together) and High School (Point Break) campuses.  Through high-energy activites, interaction with empowering adults and relevant discussion (regarding bullying, painful life experiences and emotional expression), Point Break and Stand Together draws students together, focusing on empathy and respect.  Students respond to the day’s challenges with self-reflection and the acknowledgement of personal responsibility.  The end result is improvement in the behaviors, attitudes and values of students.

+Become a Small Group Facilitator

Description: Lead a discussion group with 5-10 students during a day longPoint Break and/or Stand Together workshop. You will help facilitate questions and activities in between group games and instructional teaching throughout the workshop.

Technology & Social Media

+ Media Developer

Description: Do you have experience with techology and social media?  Video Scribe or Sparkol, an animated white board software? Youth for Christ is in need of a volunteer to support the development of our online platforms, tools and software.
